so that movie then

So I saw this movie on opening night with a friend who makes decisions for hilarity's sake. It. Was. Terrible. It was so bad that the whole audience, which mind you was made up of the 14 year old girls cuddling the book like it was their bible, was laughing at every line uttered by this awkward couple. Awkward because Robert Pattinson is a bubbly Brit trying to portray an angsty kid from Forks and because Kristen Stewart is incapable of moving her GODDAMN FACE. Not to mention the copious amounts of staring, aka eye sex. Yes a summation of this movie is staring and sparkles. No I didn't read the book, no I don't intend to, NO MEANS NO. So during this movie, of course my friends and I were laughing the loudest, so a woman turns around and actually tells us to "please be quiet some of us are trying to watch a movie here". A moment of silence passes and suddenly the ENTIRE audience erupted in laughter at her. I fell in love with the cracked review of this movie, completely made my day. Twilight was like watching Sarah Palin debate; produced, written, and directed by women yet COMPLETELY not helping any good representation of women today and lacking any role model for the younger girls to legitimately aspire to (they will all die terribly in a BDSM accident involving, you guessed it, bloodletting). So what did I do the next day? Tell everyone how terrible it was and they had the lovely idea of using free tickets to get in and see it again, this time with 40s. THAT is how you watch a movie.

New York Comic Con! I will be there, but not selling things, just as a crazy fan because so many people will be there. I hope to have presents and comics as homage to them all (and penny arcade will just scoff at me), and then I will run away into the darkness. I'll be there Saturday running around with ...I think he's dressing as the Spirit but whatever... Currently not planning on dressing up, it being FREEZING here in NYC. I'll probably post pictures from my iphone, so they won't be the best quality but they will be there!

CPAC is my main objective right now. I'm hoping to do an updated version of the Snow White Ring, a portal comic, and something anime related as prints (it being an anime con) . I think its possible to do before the end of march.

upbringing

Here is a snippet of my upbringing, which probably explains me to an extent. All til the end which is when I watched the news one day and listened to after work conversations. The "cold and alone" bit was added on behalf of Frank who enjoys melodrama as much as I do. Third panel is a direct quote from a star trek episode I found on the internet somewhere. So welcome everyone to 2009. This comic has been up and running for over a year and I still haven't reached 30 comics to advertise with project wonderful, yes believe it or not they have some standards. And I've done two holiday themed comics, I think christmas is the only real funny one that can be parodied.

After many weeks, I was finally able to grab a mac compatible version of dreamweaver and am in the process of learning to upload and link up a layout so that I don't have to harass Frank so much. Yeah having a family makes it hard to be my minion. What's happened this week...um. Last monday at the Upright Citizens Brigade theatre I was able to see the internet sensation BriTANick perform their skits for an audition for a run at the theatre for a month. Wow they were amazing and they were both NYU grads, I didn't even know that. In addition to that nerdiness, tiny ninja theater is also back in action after a very long hiatus bringing us the romantic tragedy of romeo and juliet with tiny plastic ninja figurines. Fantastic idea really, I'm sure it will either get old really fast or continue to remain amazing.

On the internet I have discovered the most AWESOME remix snippet of the super smash brothers brawl theme ever created by an independent artist named Audix. I am willing to pay him and harass him until I can get that mp3, but in the meantime, his first album came out not too long ago. Purchasable over the internet, its amazing what technology has allowed us in this day and age. Con wise, I didn't get a response from the artist alley folks from katsucon until after the registration was closed, so no trip to VA that weekend. Castlecon is still on with a full registration and table available, thank god. I was wondering where I would be able to put all of these shirts. Anyway, that is all for now.

sheer hilarity, I know the original is on newgrounds but I'm too lazy to find it

oh man Rhod Gilbert is a Welsh comedian I discovered while bored at work, he seems so insanely annoyed at things but when he speaks in interviews he's as chill as they come.

lastly, a spoken word artist named Ernest Cline, who's done several videogame poetry smashes has had several youtube vids up. I just want to know WHERE THE HELL ARE THESE POETRY SMASHES?!

CHRISTMAS

Wow, 2 months behind.

ALRIGHT! So this is the Christmas comic, it deserves some explaining. Back in the day when we were coming up with ideas for the name of this comic, the winning idea came from a random insult that we hurled at someone's odd shaped bag, and he indeed did hear us claim that he was carrying pieces of little children. POLC would have been the name of this comic if the very URL did not turn us up in the Times. Christmas shopping is always a chore and that is what the internet is for. I suggest these cute sites for unique things for ladies and these sites if you are lost like me. And no I have not finished my shopping yet heh.

Yahtzee has decided to show his face on the internet on a webseries called gamedamage. The pilot is a bit tedious but if they are able to cut down their rambling to the small segments that we love zero punctuation to be for all 3 guys involved, I'm sure it would be a bit more tolerable. A couple weeks ago I was also able to sneak into a taping of Demetri Martin's Important Things which is a lovely 30 min show with Demetri talking about the things in life that you should take heed of. Its definitely something that you should check out. That and I love him and his 100s of talents; no seriously, I think I have a problem. He's also in the newer episodes of Flight of the Conchords as a rival band. I know that season 2 has come out and I haven't even finished season 1, but the episodes I have seen are amazingly hilarious. And lastly, there will be no reviving touch for Pushing Daisies amongst other shows. Such quirk and love seems to be lost on the current audience and it is indeed such a waste. Although I'm sure that some cable network would be more than happy to pick up Pushing Daisies and the following it has gathered, it being more of a guilty pleasure for the romantically inclined.

That's all I've found on the internet my friends. Cafepress is being ridiculous so I may just format my own shop page and finally get some stuff out. No word on Katsucon artist alley dealies but there is Castlecon (one day con in NJ) which I'm very sure I will be at mainly selling shirts and a print or two.

the hold up

Frank (the webmaster) is in BOSTON!! :( He has left me to rot while I ponder the Bitch King. How dare he leave his WoW wives, yes wives, as in multiple, as in we are really silly. Yay for MMO polygamy. But yes there will be updates when he returns, I might also start scanning the doodles at work. On another note, apparently I JUST MISSED A LUDO CONCERT. I mean, I don't have a secret emo band like...just like in junior high, I don't know all the moves to the Backstreet Boys...

There is a proposition 8 protest in NYC I will try to be at if its not a downpour. I am very sad that my homestate has decided that the rail system and the rights of chickens has trumped people's right to have a civil union and the rights that go along with it. I'm thinking of a sign and holding hands with my friend. More events include an anamaguchi concert in brooklyn to remind everyone that blipfest is coming up. Oh chiptunes and 8 bit, how you accentuate my nerdom.

hey guys

So in the not too distant future, when Mccain has died and the aliens find us...

I honestly had no prob with Mccain until he chose her. Since I have been able to listen to somewhat educated philosophies on both sides of the parties, it all seems pretty bleak. I might end up voting Republicrat though. Still working on Comics. I was at NYAF selling tshirts alongside my neighbors at steamjacket. We are also working on a new layout. There is an epic sort of serious story comic that may have to be pushed aside. Trying to do this regular update thing. :P Oh right, so far I'm registered to be at Katsucon but I have no idea what the artist alley dealy is. No info, I'm sure they will get back to me. With any luck I'll have the tshirts from the store and a print or two. Making a new shirt, hard to do on color. But it shall work, iPine is something of a dear creation to me and if I can get it up and out I would be happy. Also a small con in hoboken is coming in march and I intend to go to that, it being a day and me having real work to deal with. Hope to see you at either one :P
